In the Heat of the Night

Most Hindu weddings take place at night with the day of the week determined by astrology, which I would think would be difficult for planning purposes of the guests as opposed to school and work schedules but as usual nobody seems to mind or comments.  One of the main differences in a Hindu wedding vs a Catholic wedding is that the reception will take place on another day and there will not be any alcohol or music (which is probably why nobody minds the day of the week thing as they surely won't have a hangover for work).

My sister in law's wedding was planned at a local resort and was set to be held outside.  I was hopeful with it being in the evening that it would be cooler and would make for a relaxing experience, but the heat was out in a full form all night and kept me looking like a melted ice cream cone all night.

I was more prepared for the rituals this time around, but I find the beauty of the experience just magical.  Sorry, with the limited internet and technology I have here I haven't been able to post as much, but have lots to tell when I get back home!
